Our Story

My Beauty Box journey started in the most unexpected way—during the pandemic. I’m Becky, a beauty therapist from Cheshire, and in March 2020, I was honoured to win Beautician of the Year at the English Hair & Beauty Awards. It should have been the start of an exciting new chapter… but then lockdown hit, and everything changed.

With my salon doors closed, I couldn’t offer treatments in the usual way—but I still wanted to care for my clients. So, I got creative. I put together home facial kits, and wellness boxes to bring a little self-care to people when they needed it most. They were a huge hit! That’s when I curated my very first Beauty Box—and within days, it completely sold out.

Seeing the impact of my own business struggles, I started thinking about other small businesses—how were they coping, and how could I help? My Beauty Box had been such a success that I began to imagine something bigger: a way to combine my beauty therapy skills with my passion for ethical beauty while supporting small UK brands.

Our Mission

During lockdown, the world slowed down, and we all saw how much the planet began to heal. It made me think—what if we could keep that going? The beauty industry creates an enormous amount of non-recyclable plastic waste, and I knew there had to be a better way. What if self-care could be more than just taking care of yourself, what if we could do it all while being kinder to the planet?

So, in December 2020, I officially launched The Beauty Box UK with a special Christmas edition. Since then, we’ve continued to grow, releasing themed boxes and supporting over 50 small ethical UK businesses—most of them women-led, all passionate about sustainability.

I believe beauty and self-care are important, but they should never come at the cost of the planet or its animals. That’s why every product we feature is vegan, cruelty-free, and eco-friendly. Because we work with small UK businesses, our carbon footprint stays low, and every purchase helps support real people, their dreams, and their livelihoods.

I’m incredibly proud of what The Beauty Box UK stands for and what I’m striving to achieve. The journey hasn’t been easy—I’ve faced challenges, setbacks, and more obstacles than I can count—but I’ve pushed forward with determination and a dream. Because I truly believe we can make a difference, one beauty box at a time.
